PKB Board Member Spotlight with Rachel Poling

Downtown PKB is made up of a 25 member board of directors, all dedicated to helping us meet the mission of our organization. Our board members all contribute their time and talents to help direct our organization. At the beginning of the year, we filled two seats that were left vacant. We are excited to welcome Rachel Poling to the board and thank her for agreeing to do a board member spotlight this week.

Q: When did your willingness to become active in Downtown PKB first begin? I have always been interested in the history of downtown Parkersburg, but I really wanted to become involved after my husband Ben and I purchased property here. We both live and work in the heart of downtown and want to do our part to see it thrive.

Q: On a professional note, tell us how your career ties into your board member work? I live and work downtown. I work at McDonough, Eddy, Parsons & Baylous A.C. located on Market Street, and my husband Ben and I also own RVP Properties, LLC which owns property downtown on Market Street and Fourth Street.

Q: What about Downtown Parkersburg appealed to you when joining our Board? Being able to connect with others who truly care about downtown Parkersburg and being able to really get hands-on involved.

Q: What do you anticipate will be your favorite part about serving on Downtown PKB’s Board? I am looking forward to being part of the revitalization and beautification of downtown Parkersburg.

Q: What would you like to see in downtown in the future? I would love to see more shops and eateries move downtown. It would be great for people to be able to spend the day walking the length of Market Street again. I would also love to see more events like Taste of Parkersburg that draw people downtown.
