Downtown Parkersburg is the place to connect. Young professionals, growing families, long-time residents, and visitors are drawn to downtown by their common love of the place - a place where they can appreciate life, join the movement, and be part of what happens next!

The HUB Planning Committee:
The HUB project is comprised of a steering committee of both board members, philanthropic organizations and other community agencies who see the need for downtown housing, re-development of a targeted vacant property and the need to spur economic development in downtown. Going on their second year of planning, Downtown PKB was awarded a grant through the Ross Foundation to do a concept design study on two properties in downtown to assess the viability of developing a co-working space, business incubator mixed with downtown housing.
This committee meets as needed. If interested in joining, please contact Wendy Shriver.
Arts & Cultural Designation:
Downtown’s unique assets are by far our arts and cultural organizations. Our plan is to work on seeking grant funding to market these assets by designating downtown as an “arts and cultural district.” Other projects for this committee’s focus would be incorporating more public art into our events and throughout downtown.
This committee meets the third Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in PKB office. If interested in joining this committee, please contact Jesse Siefert.
Downtown Design supports a community’s transformation by enhancing the physical and visual assets that set the commercial district apart. Our plan is to work on various projects including working on a lighting plan with the city to improve the appearance and safety of downtown in key entertainment areas. Other initiatives include formalizing an ambassador program for downtown to fund improvements in landscaping, signage, etc.
This committee meets the third Thursday of each month at noon in the PKB Office. If interested in joining, please contact Rickie Yeager.
Downtown development focuses on capital, incentives, and other economic and financial tools to assist new and existing businesses, catalyze property development, and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators that drive local economies. Our plan is to repurpose our business outreach committee and work on addressing uniform signage in our vacant properties in order to identify their potential and well as work with businesses and property owners to identify their challenges.
This committee meets the third Tuesday of each month at noon in the PKB Office. If interested in joining this committee, please contact Lindsey Piersol.
