Downtown Throwdown BBQ & Brewfest Planning Underway
Hungry for BBQ? Thirsty for an ice-cold beer? Then the Downtown Throwdown BBQ & Brewfest is the event for you! On Saturday, Sept. 14 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the corner of Third and Market Streets, the Downtown Throwdown will bring together friends and neighbors for a great time. Our event has a combination of the best BBQ in town and a variety of thirst quenching beers from around the state. The food vendors so far that you can plan on seeing at the event are last year’s Throwdown contest winner Convicted Pigs, Q-Wagon BBQ, Shortys Pizzeria, Parkersburg Brewing Company, The Coffee Bar (TCB), Pappy’s Lip Smackin’ BBQ, Parkersburg Country Club and Brunello Restaurant & Bar. The beer selection comes from breweries from all over including our very own downtown Parkersburg Brewing Company.
Not only will you have good food and drinks, you can anticipate some great entertainment from the well-known local bands Back Porch Alibi and JINXD. Back Porch Alibi returns again this year and will take the stage first followed by the sounds of newcomer JINXD to this event.
Advanced tickets are available for purchase now at the Coffee Shop at the Blennerhassett Hotel, Parkersburg Brewing Company and Downtown PKB’s office (cash or check only at our office). Cost for advanced tickets is $15. Tickets can also be purchased online through Eventbrite prior to the event by visiting our website at downtownpkb.com. The night of the event, tickets will be sold at the door for $20. Your entry ticket includes entrance into the event, one beer pilsner glass and your first drink. All other food and beverage purchases in the event are cash only. ID is required at the gate so make sure to bring you ID with you.
Our Downtown Throwdown event wouldn’t be possible without the sponsorship support from our local businesses. Sponsors that have signed on to date include: Huntington Bank, Wesbanco, United Bank, Peoples Bank, Curry Warehouse, Jan Dils Attorney at Law, Pickering Associates, CSL Plasma, Chapman Printing, City of Parkersburg, The Blennerhassett Hotel, CAS Cable, NOE Office Equipment, Williamstown Bank, Miller Communications, Clutch MOV, ManCan and Pepsi. Thank you to all of our sponsors for their continued support.
Finally, we are still in need of community volunteers interested in giving of their time by helping with set- up or event support the day of the Throwdown. Anyone interested in getting free admission into the event, an awesome volunteer t-shirt and a free glass are welcome to sign up as a volunteer by visiting our website and clicking on the Downtown Throwdown Volunteer Form at the top of the page.
We hope you join us for this fun evening in downtown Parkersburg!
