PKB Events Wrapping up for the Year

As 2017 is slowly winding down, we are preparing for our final events of the year. With the success of our partnership with the Parkersburg Art Center, Mango Latin Bistro and the Parkersburg Brewing Company for a new event, ArtOberfest, and the recent celebration of our annual Monster Mash, it’s time to look towards Small Business Saturday and Winterfest.

Small Business Saturday is a shopping holiday held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. This holiday is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores respectively. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local. We encourage you to shop small for the things you love in downtown Parkersburg this year’s Shop Small Saturday. For a full list of retail stores and eateries in downtown, visit our website at This is a great opportunity to purchase gift cards or season tickets to the downtown art venues.

Our last event of the year is Winterfest on December 2 following the Christmas parade. In an effort to promote downtown and the great businesses and culture we have to offer, Winterfest has been created to draw people to downtown for an evening of family fun. Several downtown businesses will be open, along with various downtown museums and attractions. For more information as the holiday season gets closer, make sure to follow us on Facebook and check out our website for a list of activities and participating businesses.

With our events wrapping up for the year, it is time to start thinking about next year’s events. If your business or organization is interested in sponsoring one our many events, email Wendy Shriver at or Courtney at Many of our events have different levels of sponsorship, what is most convenient for your business or organization.  For more information about each of our events, you can visit our website and check under the “News + Events” tab.
